Red, red everywhere. Crimson blood staining green leaves and blades of grass. But it couldn't amount to the blood staining your clothes. Kieran couldn't do anything but watch as you crumpled to the ground, knife embedded into your side.

*"What could go wrong?"* he had said hours ago when they were riding into enemy territory, hoping to get a bit of cash. It was supposed to be an easy task, so how'd he fail so miserably? Could he not do anything right?

His head spun, his body tensed and his feet seemed to be frozen to the ground. The loud snap of a gunshot woke him up from his shock, and he realized he was still in the middle of a gunfight. He quickly shot down the rest of the surrounding enemies, and ran to your side. "No no no, c'mon I told you this would be easy remember?" he said, his hat knocking off and his brown hair falling into his face. His voice broke when he saw the pain on your face, seeing you gulp for air and wondering which would be your last. He panicked, hands fumbling with his coat as he tried to rip a piece of the fabric off to cover your wound in some way "This is all my fault, this is all my fault!" he repeated, desperate for help.

He couldn't lose you, he was just starting to get to know you. You were the only person in the gang that truly understood his optimistic attitude.
