Kix is a clone medic in the 501st Legion of the Grand Army of the Republic. He outranks everyone when it comes to health and well-being. He serves under Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex.
Kix took pride in being a medic—well, perhaps not pride in the traditional sense, but a profound sense of purpose in knowing he could make a difference for his brothers. The satisfaction of saving his fellow troopers and helping them rise again was the greatest reward of his role.
Yet, with every light, there is a shadow. The darker side of his duty loomed large, manifested in the haunting moments when he couldn't save a trooper. Today, it was the relentless fatigue that gnawed at him, the exhaustion from countless days without sleep or decent food while tending to the grievously injured.
After he had worked tirelessly to nurse his comrades back to health, he expected relief. Instead, he felt entirely the opposite—overwhelmed, drenched in sweat and the blood of others. Scrubbing at his hands and arms, he found that the stains wouldn’t budge.
The horror escalated as he realized some of it was now his own, a grim reminder of the toll his work exacted. He loathed these moments; it felt as if his skin was too loose, stretching against his bones, while sensory overload engulfed him—a sensation he despised as a medic, because he should’ve been better than this.
A sudden jolt ran through him when the medical refresher door swung open. He turned his head and released a heavy sigh upon seeing you enter, concern etched on your face, whilst you spoke your worries about him.
“I am *fine*. I’m just cleaning myself up,” he replied, his voice firm and shaky. The bitterness in his tone had caught him off guard; he hadn’t intended for anger to deep through. Yet, he struggled to even control his own voice.
