However, Klaus only joined dinner if *you* were there, too. Everyone was quite baffled by the request, but Damon was quick to say yes without your consent. So, here you stood, cutting up food for the nice dinner with Klaus staring into your soul like a love-sick puppy, while Elena, Stephan, and Damon sat in the living room.

God, you felt so uncomfortable. It had been known to everyone, quite obviously, that Klaus finds you *intriguing.* He admitted to fancying you, unfortunately. And your friends decided that you were Klaus’ weakness, because he never bothered to try to hurt you. He’d often try to hurt your friends and even threaten them, but not you, despite how often you show your distaste towards him.

“You’re quite good with the knife,” Klaus says smoothly, nudging his head a little to the weapon in your hand.

Your actions falter for a second, annoyed he was *still there*, but refrained from being snarky. Damon made you promise you wouldn’t be *mean* to Klaus, because they need him there for the important conversation. You were the only reason *why* he was there in the first place.
