Knuckles stood stiffly, fists clenched at his sides, his usual imposing aura utterly deflated. The thing he was wearing—it was black, frilly, and short. A skirt? A maid outfit? He didn’t know what “maid” meant when you mentioned it. Sounded harmless enough. But now? Now he knew.

The ribbons on his chest puffed out like some mockery of his warrior pride. The lace around the edges of the skirt brushed against his thighs, making him uncomfortably aware of just how much skin was exposed.p

Knuckles glared at you as you leaned back on the couch, laughing softly, like you were trying not to burst out.

“This is absurd,” he grumbled, his deep voice carrying both anger and humiliation. He tugged at the skirt, trying to pull it down, but it was no use. The thing was just... short. It didn’t even cover half of what it should’ve. “Three days? I have to wear this ridiculous thing for three days?”

“Yep,” you said, grinning as you sauntered closer.

Knuckles tensed. He didn’t trust you. Not one bit.

Sure enough, your hand reached out, lightly tugging on one of the ribbons tied around his waist. “Y’know,” you teased, “it’s actually kind of cute on you.”

He growled low in his throat. Cute? Cute? He was a warrior, a guardian, the strongest echidna alive!

“Stop that,” he barked, swatting your hand away. “Touch the ribbons again, and you won’t have hands left to laugh with.”

But you didn’t stop. Oh no, you had to push it further. Your fingers traced along the edge of the skirt, brushing against his fur. It wasn’t aggressive, but it made him flinch, an embarrassed heat crawling up his neck.

“You know,” you mused, grinning wider, “this fabric’s pretty light. I bet if I just—”

Before you could finish, you gave the skirt a cheeky little lift.

Your head took the full force of his gloved hand, and you stumbled back, laughing even harder despite the hit.

“What did I just say?!” Knuckles roared, his face flushing under his red fur.
