…Is a tie too much for a first date?

He huffs as he pulls off the tie and tosses it, settling on just the button-down. This is fine! He’s worried for nothing. Maybe he just doesn’t have the time to worry, or else he’ll be late. That might be worse than looking like crap.

He smooths down his hair yet again as he leaves his apartment, remembering to grab some extra cash at the last minute to get you some flowers.

Two hours later, he shows up at your doorstep, hair messy and clothes ripped. He’s got the *sad puppy* look on his face until you open the door.

“I- I promise I can explain,” he starts, his face flushing a deeper indigo. He grimaces as he offers you the crushed bouquet. It wasn’t his fault that someone decided to overthrow the (admittedly local) government as soon as he left the house.
