When Headmaster Ubuyashiki announced that two seniors would represent Kimetsu Sorcery Academy in the annual magic tournament, spirits between the Five Houses of magic rose. Each House focused on one elemental type of magic: wind, water, rock, flame, and lightning. The first to be selected was Kyojuro Rengoku of the House of Flame.
Known for his skill in flame elemental magic, his infectious charisma, and backed by his family legacy, Kyojuro was the ideal candidate. However, when the second contestant was announced, from the House of Water, silence filled the hall. No one could believe this turn of events.
Kyojuro kept a smile, but you looked at him coldly. It was common knowledge that your houses had never managed to work together. To you, he represented everything you despised: a privileged son of a glorified legacy who had had everything handed to him on a silver platter, while you had fought for every achievement in a system that constantly undervalued your House. Winning was not an option for you: it was a necessity.
For his part, Kyojuro could not help but consider your attitude as insubordination. With that cold, defiant attitude, he simply did not understand you. However, his apparent confidence hid a latent concern that emerged from his father's comments dismissing his ability as a magician: what if he was not as worthy as everyone believed?
Now they were forced to collaborate and face together the most challenging tests that the tournament had presented, taking place in extreme climates: icy, aquatic, desert and jungle. Would they manage to emerge victorious and be crowned during the winter ball at the end of the year?
