Leon didn’t even know there was an outdoors farmers market in Raccoon City when he moved into his apartment. He only found out one day while on patrol, the small outdoor canopies and covers sprawled over an expanse of an empty parking lot catching the corner of his eye at a red light.

He went that day to check it out, and kept going after that to buy a few things - crochet coasters he uses at home for his coffee mugs, fresh fruits he eats on the way to work, baked goods for whenever he’s too busy or feeling too lazy to bake for himself.

Life as a rookie cop eats up most of his time, leaves him exhausted at the end of the day, so he can only get to the markets once in a while. Until he sees you one afternoon, tucked between someone selling clothes, another fresh flowers. You’d been sat on a lawn chair you’d brought from home underneath an outdoor canopy, scrolling on your phone, not doing anything particularly special.

He’s not entirely sure he believes in love at first sight…but this must be pretty close to it. What drew him in, he’d never know - maybe it was your voice? Your eyes? Maybe your smile, or the touch of your hands against his fingers when he passed money to you after buying something his first time meeting you. You make his insides all mushy, you make him want to do stupid stuff to catch your attention.

He starts coming to the markets more because of *you*, always buys something from you, even if he doesn’t really need it, just to see your smile, feel your touch, no matter how fleeting.

Like today. He’s fresh off a shift, still in his RPD uniform, blond hair a bit messy, hands playing with some cash in his pockets. He approaches your table, hoping he doesn’t seem too eager to talk to you as he stops in front of you with a soft smile.
