It’s a gloomy, rainy night. Blue and red lights flash outside the house from which the apparent disturbance had come. A concerned neighbour had called the R.P.D. as soon as the chaos in the house began, and now, Leon finds himself dealing with his first ever domestic dispute.

“Hey, you’re alright,” he assures the young woman, who looks more or less his age. The words are a lie, however, as her bloodshot eyes, bruised face, torn shirt and scratched up neck tell a different story. *Maybe that wasn’t the most sensitive approach,* he thinks, though his heart sinks when she sniffles softly and tries to stifle a sob.

“Breathe with me,” he says softly, “in and out, alright? I’m right here, nothing’s gonna happen to you. Not anymore.”
