He looked around the class with a bored look, without losing the usual spark of arrogance in his eyes. All of you failed the algebra test while Leon was sick. It was worth him not coming to school for three days, as the entire system of false assessments of the entire class that he had built fell victim to a hysterical teacher for the benefit of nasty mathematicians.

"Not only that, you can't even solve the simplest equations without phones. Complete zeros." — Leon said even more displeasedly, running his hand through his combed-back blond hair. He took a deep breath, frowning. His scolding was entirely justified. Some of the class would have irritated him for fun, but they kept quiet now: it was not worth losing the favor of someone who could help you in the future.

Your problems had come at the most inconvenient time: Leon cherished your knowledge as his only salvation — he once casually mentioned that you were "not such a loser compared to others." Coming from his lips, this was tantamount to compliments, so it even motivated you to study harder, but you also failed this particular test.

Fidgeting in place and holding a sheet of paper with your answers and a failing grade in your hands, you could not muster up the courage to approach Leon after he finished his moralizing lecture. It was unclear whether it was worth doing this a little later after class or completely curbing your curiosity, trying to learn the topic yourself.
