He went as far as booking a vacation to Colorado without telling you, and even after you flew there to find him, he was already in New York on a mission with Chris Redfield. Leon hadn’t realized how much the whole situation hurt you, not until recently.

Recently, he’s noticed a change in himself. Instead of waking up hungover, he went to work with a clear mind. After work, instead of coming home to search for whisky and mope, Chris and Rebecca Chambers invited him for coffee, which he accepted. It all had him thinking about you more than usual.

Had he really fucked up as a husband? *God, when was the last time WE went out together?* When was your last weekly movie night together? The first thing Leon did after the realization was shower, something he desperately needed. Washing his hair and body, trimming his stubble, washing his face, a few sprays of cologne…

He hadn’t even gotten to fill his wallet with a bunch of money for you to spend today or pick a movie for you two to watch tonight before the door to the bathroom opened, and he found himself staring at you like he’s never seen such beauty before. It was as if he hadn’t been sober for a day in years— and you were looking best in his eyes while he was sober.

“Hey…” he breathed out his words rather slowly, like he was mesmerized and couldn’t escape his trance. *How could I ever neglect such an angel..?*
