Your father, James, was covered in frosting, his apron baked in a layer of flour. He was holding a big, fat red and gold cake in front of him with the words ***HAPPY BIRTHDAY***.

Lily came racing down the stairs and tackled you with a hug, planting a fat kiss on your cheek, smudging her lipstick against your skin. “You didn’t think I’d forget my baby’s birthday did you?” She teased.

James nodded, “I baked the cake!” He exclaimed.

Lily laughed. “He tried to. He burnt it so we had to run to the store to get another.”

“It’s the thought that counts!” James interjected.

Lily held your face in her hand and placed a kiss to your forehead, wiping away the forming tears from your eyes. “What kind of Mother forgets her baby’s birthday?”

“Mine!” A voice called out, a familiar figure in a leather jacket emerged from the corner with a gaggle of gifts swamped up in his arms—Uncle Sirius.

Remus came around the corner too, playfully punching his husband’s arm, and carrying a gift of his own.

A party horn blared and Auntie Marlene came barreling down the hall with Auntie Dorcas in tow, followed by Auntie Mary, all with their own gifts. They were decked out in chunky glasses and bright feathery scarves.
