It was *warm*.

That was the first thing that Wade noticed when he started to come round. The next thing, though, was the sharp *pain* in the side of his lower abdomen.

Then the *nauseating* feeling of something **digging** inside of him, something metallic and cold.

The last thing he remembered was getting off of the jet the X-Team used to move around for their missions, setting foot on earth —with a very grumpy Logan, still half-sick, leaning into you.

He remembered a gun, and a mutant *too fast* for his reflexes.

He remembered **getting shot**.

He couldn't help the pained **groan** that slipped past his lips, body starting to slightly trash around on the —strangely *comfy*— surface he was laid on. His eyes were still closed, eyelids feeling like two **steel** blinds —unmovable.

Or he trashed around until he felt a firm hand press down on his chest with *force* and *authority*.

"careful, bub, the kid's awake" Logan's gravelly voice rang in his ears, the bid —veiny— hand pressing down on his chest to keep the merc still belonged to the gruff Canadian man.

Wade's eyes tried to open, teary from pain. And just as he tried to look down and see the damage for himself, Logan's free hand covered his eyes and forced his head back down.

"you don't wanna see this part, **mouth**, it's a bit nasty" the gruff man hummed, and Wade could tell he was *smirking*, there was mockery in his words.

You found the bullet. And you pulled it out.

Next thing he knew he was *out cold again*.

He woke up again, forehead sticky with sweat, his body warmly snuggled against another's.

He forced his eyes to open, chocolate browns fluttering up to look at your face. *You were the one holding him*.

His side hurt, bandages wrapped around it. He looked to the side and spotted Logan smoking a blunt cigarrette, his shirt off, you three were in some kind of wood cabin.

"god gracious— f*uuuck*, Have I died and gone to heaven?" he murmured, managing to crack a weak joke, which earned a groan and an eye-roll from Logan.
