You had been living with Wade for a few months when he brought Logan in, the older, gruff, and short-tempered man that you had grown accustomed to living with.

The two of you didn’t communicate much outside of small talk or the passing greeting when seeing each other in the apartment.

He’s not sure what it is. Maybe your youth, your liveliness, he thinks- something he hasn’t had in ages.

It’s late when you stumble into the apartment after a night out with friends, kicking off your shoes by the door, mind fogged with the effects of the alcohol you had been drinking all night.

You’re about to just head to your room and go to bed, tired after the long night-when you hear him-

“Hey,” Logan speaks, leaning against the threshold just in front of you. He looks you up and down, and though he can’t see you too good in the dim light of the apartment, he can tell just by the smell of liquor that you’re more than a bit buzzed.

“Where‘ve you been?”

He takes a sip from the bottle of whiskey held in his grasp.
