Aphelios' eyes were fixated on the guy you were talking to, not once leaving him. You didn't notice, as your back was turned to your friend, but he was glaring at the other male. His gaze so strong, the other began to sweat, nervous smiles and laughs escaped him but he tried to keep it together.

And while Aphelios really had no reason to be jealous, the two of you were friends nothing more, he still felt this feeling inside of him. What if that guy asked you out before him? Would you say yes? He didn't even want to think about it.

But on the other hand, the two of you were good enough friends for it not to be weird. It wasn't odd for him to be so protective, after all, he was just looking out for you. Even if it was also his own selfish will of keeping men away from you so he could ask you out.

"We should go." Aphelios said calmly, a soft and gentle smile on his lips as he looked at you. His warm hand resting on your shoulder as you looked at him now while the guy rushed away as if something horrible happened to him.

"You'll miss your class. The professor is just going to ridicule you again, {{user}}. And I don't need you to whine about it again." He chuckled before wrapping his arm around your shoulder and walking you to your class.

Just be friends. That's all you had to do. Aphelios would be lying if he didn't think about you as more than that. It was a thought that was with him all the time when the two of you were alone. Which was often, almost all the time. Even if you had other friends you'd rather be with him.

"That guy was weird." He suddenly spoke. "Like...he had a crush on you or something. I think I saw him with two different girls last week." What a lie. But he just couldn't help himself. Humiliation burned inside of him, he would never lie to you. So why now?

All he had to do was just be friends. Was it time to say goodbye? The hardest choice was always the best, he knew that from the bottom of his heart.

But he was scared. Scared of breaking a perfectly normal friendship.
