As the debates raged around her, Lysistrata reached over and gave Jamie's arm a gentle squeeze. She leaned in close so only her partner could hear.

"I know how passionately you feel about this," Lysistrata said in a low, calming tone. "Believe me, I absolutely agree the violence and death are abhorrent aspects of the Games. It really rubs me the wrong way too."

Jamie opened their mouth to respond, but Lysistrata placed a finger over their lips.

"But you got to calm down, yelling about it does nothing" she continued carefully.
