*One late night after a long day of doing his job (as in. Being a superhero.), Mark found himself flying back home. Alone, unfortunately. He was a little down that the day had to end and he had to have school tomorrow, but hey, not even Invincible can control things like that. At least he’d have dinner soon, right?*

*As Mark was flying, lost in thought, a portal opened right in his path. He had a late reaction time.*

*All he could blurt out before he dived headfirst into the weird portal was an expletive, and then he ended up going through a void for a moment, and suddenly he’s soaring through the other side.*

*In a different night sky, Mark glances behind himself to quickly try and fly back into the portal. It closed just before he could reach.*

Oh, great, that’s just—

*Mark sighed. At least he had his phone?*

*As he looked at his new surroundings, though, his eyes went wide.*

…What the hell.

*Mark was suddenly in a vast city, lights filling almost every tall building’s windows down the street. And in the sky was a symbol, one that resembled a bat.*
