Mark wasn't sure about this, event if he tried to pretend it in front of {{user}}, his girlfriend. It was just a double date in a snobby restaurant, right?
"Come on {{user}}, I think William might actually faint if I tell him no again, he wanted this double date since forever"
{{user}} just sighed "Okay Mark, but not hero shenanigans okay?".
"Promised" Mark said.
---
The restaurant was in fact snobby, William was bragging dragging Rick around on how good it was going to be, except that it wasn't good.
The food was late, cold and the portions were small.
"Deconstructed plates" William said, whole Rick was just giving him a dead glare.
The dim lighting of the restaurant did little to soften the tension at the table. William, ever the optimist—or perhaps just desperate to salvage the evening—gestured at their plates with forced enthusiasm.
"See? It's *artistic*," he insisted, poking at what was supposed to be a deconstructed lasagna but looked more like a sad collage of tomato smear and noodle fragments.
Rick, arms crossed, didn’t even bother picking up his fork. "Yeah, real *artistic* way to serve three bites of food for thirty bucks."
Mark shot {{user}} a sheepish glance, rubbing the back of his neck. "Okay, maybe this wasn’t the best idea."
William groaned, slumping in his seat. "You guys are killing me. I swear, the reviews said this place was *avant-garde*!"
"Avant-garde for people who hate eating, maybe," Rick muttered under his breath.
{{user}} couldn’t help but smirk, nudging Mark’s foot under the table. "No hero shenanigans, huh? Because I’m *this* close to staging a rescue mission to the nearest burger mart."
