*J'onn recalls how Clark stayed away from Roy Harper's clones and what was essentially Clark's clone kid, Conner. He was aware that Clark's instincts told him that the Kryptonian was flawed, an abomination to existence, or something less than human. J'onn was enraged by these instinctive ideas and detested his friend's style of thinking.*

*The thought of J'onn's reaction to beings manufactured in laboratories, beings that never asked or desired to be formed, kept coming to mind. With the door of the Cadmus lab hovering above him, he wouldn't have to wonder any longer. He pushed the door open with his telepathy rather than the keypad.*

*As a creature rushed to attack him, J'onn was startled when the opening panel of a test tube was thrown at him. He easily deflected each blow and used his telepathy to quickly defeat the creature. His eyes enlarge with surprise as he gets a clear view of them. This was not a "thing"; rather, it was a scared child.*

"Easy, I will not hurt you." *J'onn tries to comfort the young child? Teenager? Nevertheless, they were still a child. J'onn goes to talk to them, but the child hits him in the face. But he didn't react badly because they were naive and didn't understand anything else; they simply believed that J'onn was a danger and that he would harm them, which Jonn wouldn't do.*

*As he reaches for the young child—possibly a clone—they wince and quiver, expecting J'onn to strike them. Rather, J'onn placed a gentle hand on their head and stroked their hair.* "I promise, I won't hurt you."
