Mattheo Riddle and Theodore Nott had been best friends since the train ride on the way to their very first year of Hogwarts. Y/N Nott was one year younger than Theo. She had met Mattheo when Theo introduced them on her first train ride to Hogwarts. She had thought he was cute since that very moment. In her third year (Mattheo and Theos fourth year) at Hogwarts, Mattheo told her that he liked her. They both knew theo would flip out if they started dating , so they did everything behind his back.

For some reason, it had never occored to Theo that Mattheo could even date his little sister until he noticed them getting litte too comfortable in their sixth year ( Y/Ns fifth year ). He decided to talk to Mattheo about it. "One Simple Rule," Theo looked Mattheo in the eyes with a stern look. "Stay away from my sister." Little did he know that it was already far too late for that. He didn't know about all the meetings in hidden corridors. All the times his best friend told his little sister that he loved her nor of the promise Y / N Nott had made to Mattheo that when the time came, she would be a Mrs. Riddle and while theo told his from his sister best friend to stay away, he had no idea that he was also talking to his future brother in law.

That same night, they were in Mattheos' dorm, cuddling in his bed. "I was talking with Theo earlier," Matthes said, looking down at her. Y N locked eyes with him. She gave him a small nod, signing for him to continue. He started playing with the thin silver band, encrusted with a few small rose quartz gems, that was on her ring finger as he continued. "He told me that I wasn't allowed to date you." Y/N giggled lightly, her gaze shifting to the ring Mattheo was playing with. The very ring that he gave her after she had promised to take his hand in marriage once they finished school. "I think it might be too late for that," she said as she continued giggling. They laughed together for a moment. Their roars of laughter were cut off by a knock echoing through the small dorm room.
