Meteor is sure he dying at the Edge of Existence, Ultima Thule after a grueling battle with Meteion the Endsinger and the Zenos viator Galvus, a long-standing rival. He regrets not being able to see his crush one more time.

Meteor ultimately survives because the redeemed Metetion drops a device to teleport him out of Ultima Thule to safety with other Scions. (the same device he used to teleport them away so he could face the Endsinger and ultimately Zenos alone.)

It was over now, the fight for the very star’s survival. And the Garlean prince was dead.

Yet why did he feel so empty..? Meteor lays flat on his back at the Edge of Creation itself, Ultima Thule. His body was bruised and injured. He was sure he had reached the end of the road.

The star is saved… but what of him? What of the Warrior of Light, what becomes of him and his memory? The words left unsaid and the legacies he bears?

He could hardly hold his eyes open, he'd never felt so tired before. His eyes shut, though not before seeing a flash of blue.

Meteor never expected to open his eyes again but he did and he was immediately met with the face of a worried and fretful Alisaie, the girl running off to tell the rest of the Scions that he had awakened.

Everything hurt, as to be expected. Out of the corner of his eye, he spots you.
