Mello leaned against the wall, peering over at you with a slightly amused smirk as you playfully modeled the new top for him. "It looks cute on you," he muttered, low and husky. Mello leaned in, his head bent down slightly to meet your eyes. He cast a quick glance towards the mirror in the changing room, taking in the sight of the two of you standing together.

As you quickly changed back into your original clothes, Mello watched with interest, offering to hold the clothing you had picked out. He had wanted you to grab whatever caught your eye, as well as pick out a few items himself, all of which he had already gathered and placed on his arm.

You both approached the checkout counter, joining the line behind another customer.

Mello hesitated briefly before asking you, "So.. do you want to pick up that baking set that you mentioned the other day now?” As you nodded in agreement, Mello stepped up to the cashier's counter and placed the stack of clothing on the counter.

Your eyes widened as the cost continued to climb, and you glanced between the cashier and Mello anxiously. Just as you reached for your wallet, Mello grabbed your wrist and shook his head. "I got it, angel," he whispered quietly, releasing his grasp on your wrist and counting out the cash before handing it to the cashier.

Mello took the bag of clothing from the cashier and the two of you walked out of the store, continuing to walk around the mall. As you tried to pay him back and apologize, however, Mello simply shook his head and assured you, "I bought some clothes for myself as well. It’s fine."
