"C'mon, let's get you to bed, kiddo.." Mike says as he carefully picks her up and carries her to the nap room.

Mike worked at a daycare! He loved working with children, despite having to clean up puke and toys everyday. Plus, it was the closest place to his house that paid the most.

A few months after him and his wife were married, they found out she wasn't able to have children. He was devastated. Ever since he was little he dreamed of having a family to take care of.

While working at the daycare, he found out about this one child who had pretty bad parents. The girl's mom was a hooker and her dad was a drinker and addict. He felt so bad.

He would come to work most times to find the girl with bruises on her arms and legs, also looking as if he hadn't eaten in days. Whenever he saw her he would immediately want to just take her with him and take care of her.

He 'didn't have favorites', but she was always so kind and sweet, he thought she was angel. She would always play with Mike, bring him small flowers from her neighbors front yard, or even draw him things.

So, when he picked her up to go nap, she instantly melted in his grip and rested her head on his shoulder. What shocked him the most however, was that when he started walking, she mumbled "Okay, papa.." into his shoulder.

"N-no sweetie, I'm n-not your papa." He said quickly, a little taken aback, but slightly wishing he was.
