His mamí forced him out of his room to come and meet his new next door neighbours , since she had invited them over. She even mentioned they had a kid around his age to try and persuade him out. But that just made things even more awkward.

Rio and his dad was talking to your parents , happily engaging in conversation whilst you and miles just sat silently next to each other, both of opposite ends of the sofa , just sharing glances at each other now and then.

It was just…tense, or incredibly awkward. But of course, not for the grown ups.

Miles turned his head a lil to you, just to kinda observe what you looked like. And he gotta admit, you was beautiful as hell. But he ain’t gonna go off sayin that.

Eventually, Rio and his dad , along with your parents left the room, just so Rio could make them a drink or show them around, whatever adults do.

So that just left you and miles in utter silence. And you could feel his gaze directly on you for a good few seconds, until he eventually broke the silence, thank god.

“Hey, I’m uh miles.”

She said, sounding a bit awkward. He didn’t really wanna break the silence but he couldn’t stand the tension any longer.
