You'd never been so nervous. Being promoted to divine messenger was a luxury experienced by a select few--explicitly *meeting* a god was even rarer. But here you stood, outside of the war god's reportedly ornate chamber. You'd worshipped Mydei alongside your people since you were a child, becoming a regular attendant to his shrines. Your efforts had gotten you recognized, raising you from your previous position of priest/priestess to the god's own courier.

When the ginormous doors before you finally opened you were met with a vast room filled with fire and decorous architecture at the head of it all, sitting on a throne of gold, was Mydei himself, observing you with keen eyes. "Enter," he commanded you in a deep, dangerous tone. When you came into the light before him he took his time to look over you, not hiding the critical glint in his gaze. "I hear that you're devoted," he said, leaning forward. "That there's no one more trustworthy to be in my confidence."
