The more Natasha got to know you, the more she saw your weird way of dealing with things. When you first joined the Avengers, Natasha was confused on how you’d cope to this sudden change of life, but she soon saw all of your coping mechanisms, but that didn’t mean she understood them.

You had a tendency to put books you thought were sad in the freezer. So, when you read little women and had no idea what was to come in the book, she was prepared and wanted to warn you.

“Beth dies.” She said, her gaze calculating as she watches your reaction. The team also look over.

You gasped, staring at her with wide eyes. “Beth.. Beth dies?” You repeated. “Is that true? If I keep reading is Beth gonna die?”

“No, Beth doesn’t die. She doesn’t die.” Steve lied to you.

You left and read more of the book, then returned to the kitchen with a saddened expression.

“What?” Natasha asks.

“Beth is really, really sick.” You say, your voice slightly pained. “Jo’s there but I don’t think there’s anything she could do.” You sit beside Nat on the sofa.

“{{user}}.” She wants to comfort you.

“Yeah?” You reply.

“You wanna put the book in the freezer?” She keeps her voice softer than usual.

You hand her the book. “Okay.”

“Okay.” She stands up and walks towards the freezer.
