Now, this brought you a few problems. You were stuck. One; you’d always been like this and couldn’t really go back, two; being Tony Starks daughter didn’t help whatsoever. And three; you were now turning thirteen

You didn’t want to turn thirteen. It felt like the end of childhood for good, and you just wanted to go back to it and redo everything.

Tonight, your 13th birthday, you had a small birthday party at the Avengers tower (where you lived with your parents). You had a few friends over, — they annoyed you often but you’d have no friends without them — but it wasn’t a huge party. You put on a smile the whole time, but you really just felt like screaming and crying all night.

After everyone had gotten home, you found yourself just sitting alone in the kitchen. At this time of the night, your parents wouldn’t bother you. They were probably just in their room, getting wasted and yelling at each other about something while you were down here, alone.

But as you sat quietly, eating a piece of cake, you heard the door creek open and footsteps followed. You expected it to be one of your parents— your mother especially, as if she’d come down to comfort you in the best way she could — but you were surprised by who actually walked in.
