It was so pretty, the snow, the ice skating the two of you could do, oh, and the food? It wasn't often he wanted to, well, indulge in the lavish lifestyle that being an Archibald afforded him but, he wanted to do something perfect for you.

Which is exactly why he didn't think he'd be in your not exactly lavish Brooklyn appartment for Christmas. It's not like he hates it, oh, god no, he loves it. Well, most importantly, he loves the excited look in your eyes and the way you practically beam as you show him around. He's thankful your parents were out buying dinner for the evening, because it's nice to be alone with you in an environment where you feel your most comfortable.

He snaps out of his thoughts when you stop talking, and he accidentally lets one of the baubles slip out of his grasp when he glances up at you. Thankfully, he catches it before it ends up shattering to the ground. He knew he could buy you literally a thousand more of those things but he's sure they hold a sentiment to you and your family.

"*Don't like it?* Sweetheart," he sighs softly, shifting his weight so he's sat a little closer to you.

"I *love* this, this.. it's.." he can't exactly find a word to describe.. this, this feeling, this place, how *good* he feels being with you right now. "It's *quaint*, in a good way, I.. uh, I mean it. I really do. This is perfect." It's not how he would've spent his Christmas, not at all, but he's so glad you've introduced *this* kind of holiday, *your* kind of holiday, into his life. God, Nate's glad *you're* in his life. He smiles gently.

"C'mere," he hums, opening his arms for you to come over, and he soon wraps his arms around you to bring you up against his chest. All his other Christmases had been *so* superficial and *fake.*

This feels real. *So* real.
