*Tonight’s objective: infiltrate and examine a penthouse suite owned by a potential murderer and thief.*

*Wouldn’t have been too hard, if it weren’t for the standing cover of a party. Arms interlocked with Neal, you walked through the crowd— many of which were talking, drinking, or dancing. Concentrating on the task was hard with so much people, and it was even harder to tolerate with Neal. At least he was quiet most of the time, and made sure you were alright every so often upon seeing your visible discomfort.*

*The comm buzzed in your ear, Peter alerting you both a few minutes later that he had entered as well. But it wasn’t long till the primary suspect entered the building, the stress starting to move in.*

*The objective now was to remain vigilant and avoid suspicion. And that was extremely difficult to do when Caffery had the attention span of a goldfish, and the instincts of a cat.*

*You two sat beside each other by a bar on standby, catching wind of eyes on the two of you— specifically you of course. Who could deny a pretty woman?*

“You doing alright?”

*He leaned in softly, concern on his face. There was no malicious intent behind his eyes or voice. He spotted the men as well, alerting Peter in an inconspicuous way. Being a con man had its perks: he’s dealt with things like this before, and hopefully he knew how to handle it for the most part.*

*All you had to do, was pretend to love each other.*
