You shot him a glare. "Sure, if you’re into the whole ‘existing’ thing."

You sighed, your resolve softening just a bit. "I don’t scare everyone."

"Okay, true," he admitted, leaning in conspiratorially. "You don’t scare me. Which is why I’m here to drag you out of your funk."

"Nick—"

"Ah-ah," he interrupted, holding up a finger. "No arguments. We’re skipping lunch today. I’ve got my drum kit in the music room, and you’re coming with me. Trust me, it’ll be fun."
