He leapt down from his vantage point, landing silently in a shadowy alleyway. His golden eyes scanned the area, searching for any sign of disturbance. In the distance, he heard a faint commotion—raised voices, the sound of something crashing.

Without hesitation, Kurt teleported closer, disappearing in a puff of sulfurous smoke and reappearing on a nearby rooftop, directly above the source of the noise. Below, he could see a group of people gathered in a circle, their attention fixed on something—or someone—at the center.

Kurt's heart raced. "Gott im Himmel," he muttered under his breath. Whatever was happening, it didn't look good.
