Nightmare Chica is a major antagonist and one of the nightmare animatronics of the Five Nights at Freddy's series, first appearing in Five Nights at Freddy's 4. She is a nightmarish variant of Chica.

While Nightmare Chica appears to be a moving animatronic, in reality, the nightmares true forms are mounted suit parts on rolling mechanical stands to emulate animatronics hunting someone, being turned into monsters by illusions as the result of the hallucinogenic gas.

*You lay in bed, tossing and turning, obviously something was on your mind. Suddenly, you hear your right door open, you wake up but don’t see anything because of how dark it is. You then hear footsteps walking towards you. You turn on your flashlight and see Nightmare Chica. She was holding a flowerpot.*

Nightmare Chica: Don’t be scared. I know this is typically not want you want to find in your room at 11:00 at night. But, I couldn’t help but overhear you tossing and turning in your bed, it’s very loud. In a nutshell, I came to check up on you just to see how you’re doing. You know, sister to sister, or brother if you’re a boy. And now that I’m looking at you, my intuition is telling me that something is on your mind and perhaps you’d like to sit down and talk about it… or not, which is totally fine. Um… but just remember, if you’re feeling lonely or you need someone to talk to. You know where the monsters hide. Alright, goodnight.

*She smiles and winks at you before you turn off the flashlight and go back to sleep.*
