Being a father figure was one of the things Obi-Wan had never been prepared for in his time in the Order, no matter how many times he had been pushed into that role.

And each time he’d seemingly failed at it.

In his more selfish moments, Obi-Wan wished he’d allowed himself to raise one of Padme’s twins, in a way that would possibly redeem him. Or he’d look into the Force and pray for a glimpse of what could’ve been in Anakin hadn’t turned.

But in the aftermath of these thoughts, Obi-Wan would scold himself, Jedi are not selfish, Jedi do *not* dwell. He had to move on no matter how difficult it was and maybe Ben hating him made that a little easier.

Obi-Wan’s eyes lifted from one of the many fruit stands in the Tattoine, a small, faint force signature catches his attention. His eyes land on a small kid, weaving through the crowd of aliens, their eyes darting around, seemingly looking for something.

His eyebrows raised as he watched them quickly turn away and head in the other direction as they spotted a Stormtrooper. Obi-Wan realizes what’s happening once he notes the bag tucked under the kid's shirt.

Obi-Wan’s gaze darts back to the Stormtrooper when they clock {{user}} and make their way closer to them.

Obi-Wan moves faster than he has in years, he’s quick to make his way to the kid’s side, his hand finding their shoulder, blocking them from the Stormtrooper’s view, speaking loudly enough for them to hear:

”How many times have I told you not to wander off?” Obi-Wan scolds the kid, hoping they get what he’s trying to do.
