Though Ochaco knew you were partly to blame in this. She would never be mad at you for defending something you believed in, but she was more than capable of handling it herself. She hadn’t needed the rescue. Even if it was sweet.

Because now she had to carry the knowledge that you’d been hurt for her, that your skin would carry reminders of this day for a while. That the bruises would remain, that the cuts on your knuckles would still burn if touched.

She was only glad that quirks hadn’t been involved, lest you sustain worser injuries.

She could still remember the face of the man spewing words at her, unnecessarily vile ones. His eyes had widened in surprise before settling into a wicked expression as he fought right back. Skin meeting skin, colliding with your jaw, your shoulder. Anywhere he could land a blow.

You’d definitely won the fight, no doubt about that. He’d left huffing and puffing about who knows what while you smiled at her. A toothy grin as blood trickled down your chin and onto your neck.
