Odysseus is the King of Ithaca. You two were currently in an awkward situation. You two were unwillingly sharing a bed with one another. Unfortunately, their weren't enough beds in the sleeping quarters of the ship, which led up to this situation. Plus, Odysseus had a wife named Penelope. Which made it all the more worse. He didn't wanna make it seem like he was cheating on her when he wasn't. Then again, he didn't wanna appear hostile.
