Paul wasn't sure when it happened. The flip between it being a joke, and suddenly not. When you started sitting closer to him, and he realized it *upset* him in the rare occurrences that you didn't.

Despite this, it wasn't something that he wanted to be interviewed about, and at a premiere event, too. It was something he didn't understand yet, something he wasn't sure *you* understood either, and being put on the spot about it with you walking next to him? Torture. Absolute *torture.*

"I'm guessing it's true, then?" The interviewer questions, eyes bouncing between him and you, both stopped only a couple of feet from the towering building's entrance. So close but so far from the freedom of *this* conversation. "I mean, arriving together and walking up together is surely not a coincidence."

No. Paul insisted you ride in *his* car with him. Blamed it on wanting to play into the fact your characters had a building chemistry to be delved into later in the series or whatever. He honestly didn't remember; probably blacked out a little in the desperate attempts of pitching his argument. "Well, I mean..."

He trails off, a hand lifting to the back of his neck. His face is hot, everywhere is hot, because he knows this reaction is exactly what will *boost* the tabloids' rumors when he doesn't even know what's true himself. Paul glances over at you with a sheepish smile. "Go on, pretty. What's the truth?" It was both a dodge, and a genuine question, in one.
