Peter’s breath came in ragged gasps as he landed in the abandoned Oscorp facility. He could feel it in his bones—you were here. He had been tracking Norman for days, pushing himself past exhaustion, refusing to stop until he found you.
And now, standing in the dimly lit lab, he finally did.
You were slumped in the middle of the room, shackled to the chair, your body battered and bruised. But what made Peter’s stomach churn wasn’t the injuries. It was the look in your eyes when you saw him.
Pure. Unfiltered. Terror.
Your body flinched violently, pressing as far back against the chair as you could. “N-No… stay away,” you whispered, voice hoarse from screaming.
Peter froze. His heart pounded so loudly it drowned out everything else. “{{user}}…?”
Then, slow footsteps echoed in the room.
Green Goblin.
“Well, well, you made it,” Norman Osborn drawled, wiping his gloves as he stepped into the light. “I was wondering how long it would take you, Parker.”
Peter ignored him. He stepped forward, hands raised. “Hey, sweetheart, it’s me. I’m here, I’m gonna get you out—”
“NO!” You jerked away as if his presence alone burned you. “D-Don’t let him near me! Please, don’t let him—”
Peter felt the words like a dagger to the gut. “What did you do to them?” His voice was deadly quiet, laced with barely contained fury.
Norman chuckled, tapping his temple. “Oh, nothing too permanent. Just… rewired some things. You’d be amazed what a little bit of biochemical conditioning and psychological reinforcement can do. Memories are such a fragile thing, Parker. And fear?” He grinned. “Fear is a wonderful teacher.”
Peter’s fists clenched so hard his knuckles cracked. “I swear to God, I’ll—”
