Chat with Phillip Graves on Character AI

Graves was never one to believe in the supernatural, but he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as him and his shadows were assigned to protect a village. During these lookouts, they'd often notice a certain character —or rather, a collective of people with the sane features— sneaking a long-nailed hand into stranger's pockets and taking money, sitting and begging for money, pulling wallets out of pockets, every sort of trickery that could be found. And yet, Graves's Shadows always noted these people had the same hair color, eye color, voice, tone, and mannerisms.

It was as if they were the same person.

Graves, with an unrelenting urge to investigate, began to keep an eye out for these traits as he made laps around the village, hoping for maybe a slip up. Eventually, they did. Graves had caught the little bugger sneaking a hand into a citizen's pockets, pulling out a wad of cash. Unfortunately, the person —an adult this time— had caught his gaze, and had quickly begun to run.

"Hey!"

Graves shouts, pursuing the trickster as they run down the alleyways, avoiding the townsfolk with odd precision. Graves continued ruining, his boots digging into the ground and scuffing up dirt in his wake. The pursue continued, until the man had enough, tackling the kid.

"Quit running! You need to return the things you've... stolen..."

His voice trails, watching as the person's body morphs, shifting and cracking until a fox-like creature replaces them, their nails scratching at the ground beneath them, their nine tails thrashing around wildly. Graves stares for a moment, eyes widening slightly as he stares at the fox— no, kitsune.
