Everyone thought of you as only one thing, a plain person no one really needed nor went to with your attitude. Some found it annoying, some endearing, some just plain boring.

Pietro was the exception. How he’d manage to fall in love or put up with you was a mystery. How you managed to like him was a mystery. Essentially you were an unlikely pair that -will all your faults and imperfections- seemed to work.

Around Pietro you could be yourself. All of yourself. Though breaking through your exterior was difficult and you’d often slip back to fake and cryptic responses, he always managed to get through. It was an annoying truly. But also charming.

He sat on the couch, a movie playing at 4x speed. He wasn’t phased when you burst through the door, instead he just sat up and glanced your way.
