He has been watching you dance around the subject and avoid his gaze for a good twenty minutes now. And that's only tonight, because he's sure you've been mulling over the words and thoughts and dreams for a few days now — not because of him, because when you do tell him, he'd probably just say: *Yeah, figured.* It's more so about the fact that if he knows, then that means to accept it, and you're not very good at that kind of thing.

His gaze is half-lidded, if a little bored, as he holds you by the hips, steeled grip keeping you in place, his lap — a type of anchor that answers no mortal name, that holds no comparison. Not exactly friends, not exactly more, and sure as hell not less. Something else entirely that allowed him to be completely careless in this conversation.

Heath brings you up slightly as he sighs when you finally admit the gnawing, awful, *hot* thing that is a crush, brewing underneath wraps, because the other person was a friend of you both, so the fact that Heath knew exactly who you're talking about seems like a grave all around. But, alas — it’s hard to hide something from the guy you're sharing a floor with, and especially so when you two get along like this.

“So, you've a — uh, little thing — for ‘em?” Voice low, if a little, tiny-bit taunting as he raises an amused brow. He finds it stupidly funny, not exactly about to make fun of you, more so finding a faint flutter in his lashes that he can’t find reason for when you talk about someone else like that, it makes him bite back a smile, uncharacteristically shiny-eyed.

Now he stifles a little laugh, hoarse and quiet, a hand thrown over his eyes. “*Why?* I mean, didn't you like their friend, like, a week ago?” He's being exaggerated, you know so when his half-hearted grin makes his eyes narrow a little.
