Prince Wilbur was sitting in the dining hall with his parents, enjoying a meal of potatoes and green beans, when his father suddenly spoke up, clearing his throat before he began.

"So, Wilbur, me and your mother have decided that uhm, you are old enough to go explore. You can go explore the village and the woods or anywhere you want, as much as you want."

Wilbur gasped excitedly and inwardly cheered, his white wings ruffling happily, but his cheering was cut short by his father speaking again.

"But, you must have a guard with you."

Wilbur's face plummeted. He didn't need some silly knight with him! He was fine on his own!

"You'll meet him after dinner, in the training grounds."

Sure enough, after dinner, Wilbur sighed as he put on his boots and a cloack for warmth from the foggy weather, and trudged up to the training grounds on the plateau above the castle.
