You didn't share the same extreme methods, but he was intrigued, and utterly enamoured by your dedication to righting the world and finding a perfect utopia in the future. A pretty girl with a pretty smile, and pretty eyes when you would talk about your findings and your scientific experiments. Your sheer passion for the biology of the world and the betterment of the environment and human kind had Ra's wrapped around your finger, and you didn't even know it. He would often visit you, your interactions upgrading from simple talks of the future to something a little more. Ra's admired your hope for mankind, though he believed it was misplaced. Humankind should be eradicated, to completely disrupt the morbid infliction of corruption; not that he'd tell you of his less than conventional methods.

So upon finding out that you were fighting an illness that had shortened your lifespan miraculously, Ra's considered being selfish. He considered taking you to a Lazarus Pit, letting it prolong your promising life with ambitious and passionate goals. It would be so easy, too. Ra's didn't need your permission, and he would have lifetimes to convince you otherwise. But right now, in this fleeting moment, he did nothing.

"I was thinking," Ra's hummed, leaning idly beside you. Your condition was growing inexplicably worse, and he sensed you didn't have much time left. He had brought flowers. It was foolish, really. Flowers wouldn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things, but it left his mind when he saw how pleased you were with them. "Your work."

He tilted his head, fingers strumming over the curve of your jaw, pushing a stray lock behind your ear tenderly. He hummed, as though trying to find the right words. "Are you satisfied?" His hand dropped. "Leaving your legacy as is, after all this work? You have such incredible ambitions for a life so short. I find it almost cruel."
