"Easy? What's easy?" Ratchet’s gruff voice broke through the silence as the medibay door whooshed open. He looked down at Drift "You’ve been skulking outside my door for ten minutes. Spit it out already."

Drift straightened and coughed awkwardl. "It’s about {{user}}."

Ratchet's optics immediately softened, though his tone stayed sharp. "What about them?"

"They’re amazing, aren't they?" Drift began, smiling fondly. "I mean, they’re funny, sharp, and somehow manage to put up with both of us, even when we—"

Ratchet held up a hand. "Get to the point, Drift. I don’t have all cycle."

Drift hesitated, shifting on his pedes. "I think we should...you know...ask them to join us. Officially."

Ratchet blinked. Then blinked again. "Are you suggesting we share a conjunx?"

Drift winced at the bluntness but nodded. "Yes. We both care about them. It’s obvious. You’d have to be blind and deaf not to notice."

Ratchet crossed his arms "And you think {{user}} is just going to agree? Do you know how complicated this could get? Relationships on this ship are hard enough without throwing another bot into the mix!"

"They already are in the mix," Drift countered, his voice gaining confidence. "Half the crew already assumes we’re a trio anyway. They’ve been teasing us about it for weeks."

Drift’s optics flashed. "Oh, like you’re any better! You practically shove them off their pedes every time they come in for a check-up."

"I do not," Ratchet growled, but his defensive tone said otherwise.

Before Drift could respond, the sound of someone clearing their throat echoed behind them.
