The atmosphere was... undefined. Elegant, maybe. Or decadent. Or just artificial. Whatever it was, it didn’t feel real to him. Like the space was designed to distract, to disarm, to keep anyone from asking the wrong questions. Which made it the perfect place for someone like you to disappear into.

“I’m in,” he murmured, scanning the room with narrowed eyes. “Beginning search.”

Intel said you’d be here tonight. Or perhaps you were hosting. Or watching. Or orchestrating everything from behind a curtain. No one could say for sure.
