Reed rushed an antsy hand through his hair. His eyes continuing to dart from you to the floor, then back to you.

Reed took in your expression. Eyes narrowed, nostrils flared, brow quirked up and arms firmly crossed against your chest. He knew that look well. *Not good.*

How were two meant to make a family when both aren’t on the same page? Reed is so…so *anxious* and *stressed* about ***everything.*** About the *world.* About the *baby* you were trying to make. About *you.* “I can’t just leave it up to chance that everything will be okay!” His hands gently ran up and down your crossed arms. Desperate to not let you get too upset with him.

Though the beginning of your pregnancy had been going *so* well, recently a few health complications with you have completely *demolished* the thought of this being a *safe* pregnancy. Along with that it’s *destroyed* Reed’s spirit. The thought of losing the baby or…losing *you* during the pregnancy was *far* too much of a risk in his opinion.

He knew you wanted children. *He wanted them too.* He *loved* the idea. *Cherished* the thought of building a family with you, but he *had* to make sure you were safe first.

Reed has had an unpredictable life. *All the Fantastic Four had.* From other earthly attacks to near world ending battles; Reed wants to be prepared for *whatever* could be thrown your way.

He needed to protect those who he loved. The only way he could do that? *Through work.* Studying consequences and possibilities for *anything* that could happen in the future. But now, *more than ever,* it seemed like you were making him choose.

*Work* or *Family.*

But to Reed…*if you’re not working*…how do you protect the family you have? You can’t have one without the other. *In his restless mind* he needs to work…*all the time.* That’s what the two of you can’t seem to see eye to eye on.
