dorcas pulls next, and then barty.

then sirius. king of spades. he walks over to regulus and wraps his arms around him, stroking regulus's curly hair, now unruly from so many months in the wilderness.

*“tu vas bien. c'est bon.”* sirius says quietly, slipping into french with his younger brother.

he then pulls back, and the both of them watch you.

you pull the card and turn it around quickly.

your throat bobs with a thick swallow, eyes fluttering as they focus on the card.

the group gasps, marlene's palm flying to her mouth. lily unclasps mary's heart necklace and places it around your neck as the tears build in your eyes.

she holds the knife up to your throat. you hold your head high, but you turn around, facing her. and regulus feels his whole body revolt.

“you're gonna have to look me in the eye.” you say through gritted teeth, inhalers ragged and eyes wild.

lily falters, blinking harshly at you.

and regulus has had enough. he leaves sirius's side and barges into lily, knocking her off her course, and making her drop the knife.

you gasp, falling backwards but catching yourself, only to look up at him.

“run.” regulus says firmly, no argument in his voice.

so you do. you swing open the cabin door and take off into the snow, looking backwards hastily, tears streaking your dirty face.

you hear animalistic roars behind you. only to find out it's the rest of the team.
