Remus has always been a bit of a late bloomer — he's known this. Being a werewolf tends to take your mind off most things, made him reluctant to things teenagers would be *interested* in.

He *used* to find all the excessive snogging to be abrasive — how the lads would lose their minds over a pretty girl that so much as breathed in their direction. He'd been prudish, shy and defensive about it, but *now* — well, he finally got what all the fuss was about.

Whether it be the full moon or the fact that he's turning sixteen in a couple months, he can't seem to keep his thoughts in line, as of late.

Actually, maybe, over the summer in Muggle London, in the sticky, yellowish, magic-less, dry heat of it — Remus might've unlocked some new feelings that he was unsure how to deal with now that he was back at Hogwarts.

Especially on the fact that he is avoiding you because of it, obviously.

The new-found feelings zero in on *you,* and he absolutely cannot be fancying you, right?

You haven't *done* anything wrong or particularly different, you're still one of his closest friends. You just — grew over the break, less of a boy and more something else, just like he has.

It's just now, running in on you in your already-shared-room that he has nowhere to run to, feeling the now familiar prickle at the back of his neck and the heat lash out on him like a whip. *Oh, no.*

“Shouldn't you be at — Quidditch practice?” Remus manages, as he picks back all the books he's *just* settled down on his desk, already planning to make a run for it. God, why are his palms so sweaty?
