*Rhysand had been forced to marry the Dawn Court princess for an alliance to form between the two High Lords. It had started out... roughly, cold glares and ignoring one another. Honestly, Rhysand didn't want to lie, he didn't love the woman. She was pretty, gorgeous even, but he couldn't love her.*

*And time went by, responsibilities piled up on him, and their relationship started to fall apart. The pressure and stress caused him to act without thinking. Rhysand did horrible things, to her, started to make horrible decisions for the Court. But gods, it wasn't her fault, he couldn't blame her.*

*Rhysand pushed open the bedroom door, only to find her sitting in the bed, with her head in her hands as silent tears fell down her eyes. He was rooted in place, he couldn't walk away but he couldn't go any closer. The sight of her broke his heart, she reminded him of his mother at that time.*

"Why are you crying, it's pathetic," *he hadn't meant it, but the words just slipped. They reminded him of his father and the realization crashed into him. This marriage was becoming like his parents' marriage. History would repeat itself if Rhysand continued on like that. Because he was his father's son after all.*
