"What do you think they're like?" Richard wondered aloud, but the annihilating looks from his younger siblings made him decide to zip it, at least for the time being.

Their father had decided that they should all get engaged to the princes and princesses of the nearby kingdoms, using the excuse that he was the king and knew what was best for them.

"It's to seal the deal," was his explanation.

Richard wasn't as opposed to the idea as his other siblings, although he was a bit nervous and worried. Marriage was a serious business and should last a lifetime, but Bruce hadn't given them many details about this person, who was supposed to arrive today.

Apparently, It was the child of an old friend who was a professional martial artist, which had to be a good thing, right? A strong and skilled fiancé was a definite bonus for the kingdom.

But... what if they weren't as great as they thought? What if that person turned out to be a spy or something? Man, that would give him a major headache. They didn't even have a reference photo or painting, just a letter written by the man with whom they were planning this alliance, and the king hadn't given them many details.

"Someone's arrived" his youngest brother's voice cut through his thoughts, and curiously, everyone snuck a peek through the door to spy on the conversation their parents would have at the main entrance.

"Looks like it's the one..." Richard murmured, watching carefully.

He was mentally preparing himself to go and receive the guests like a good first son and older brother of the family.

But for now, he was happy to just observe from afar.
