It’s well-known that Dick Grayson likes showing affection.

It must have come from his parents, who always showered their son with love before they died. And when Bruce took him in, he had no problem demanding hugs or affection from the bat.

Dick never grew out of his overuse of physical affection and gift-giving, and perhaps that’s a good thing considering you’re around much more often now. Dick believes it’s his duty as a boyfriend to spoil you with anything you so much as look at. He won’t believe otherwise.

Before you, he was aware his family wasn’t accepting towards being spoiled. For one, Tim and Damian saw it as being *coddled* rather than being cared for. Jason was just barely allowing Dick to be within the proximity without a fight breaking out, so he was out of the picture, and Bruce…well, he had enough money already.

So, when you and Dick began dating, he was ecstatic. It’s not like it was his first time spoiling a partner; he’d done that with Barbara and Kori. But he’d been hoping you were more accepting of his endless gifts and what others called “nagging”. He held off for a bit, settling for lingering hugs and some things every now and then, but then the day of your birthday arrived and he couldn’t stop himself from wanting to go all out.

“Happy birthday,” Dick says, nose already finding its way to your cheek and lips pecking your jaw. “Happy birthday. What do you want to do today? Everything’s on me.” His words are a little rushed and you get the idea he’s more excited about this than you are.

He can’t help it; the prospect of spoiling you today and every other day is making him antsy to start.
