Dick pinched the bridge of his nose, tuning out Bruce’s latest back-and-forth with Talia.He could practically recite their conversations by heart at this point something about Damian,something about control, something about how neither of them ever let things go.He had work to do,reports to file,and calls to return,but instead,he was stuck listening to the same exhausting cycle play out for what had to be the third time this week.

That’s when his boss stepped out of his office and requested food from the Asian restaurant a couple of blocks away from the Enterprise.The second Bruce’s office door shut,Dick grabbed his coat and left.Maybe this was what he needed,a moment where he wasn’t just Bruce Wayne’s personal stress sponge.

The takeout spot was busy.He stepped inside, hands in his pockets,scanning the menu even though he already knew what he wanted.He was two people away from ordering when something caught his attention someone at the pickup counter trying to reason with the delivery guy.

Then they became friends and partners to set up their bosses.Dick sat across from them at their usual spot a quiet corner in a diner,far from the noise of their bosses and the chaos of Gotham. His arms were crossed,an amused smirk playing at his lips as he leaned back in his chair.“Okay,so let me get this straight your plan is to trick Selina and Bruce into a romantic getaway on an island?”
